When we talk about climate change and the sustained rise in global temperatures, the public debate often focuses on environmental consequences or on the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Yet there is a fundamental aspect that is rarely discussed and is becoming increasingly relevant: global warming and extreme temperatures have a very negative impact on the electricity generation capacity of nuclear power plants, cogeneration plants, and combined-cycle plants, which, in the current context, continue to be one of the essential pillars of electricity generation systems.
